  • Vaccine requirements

    • Passengers aged 18 years and older must hold digital proof that they are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 obtained.
    • This does not apply to the following passengers:
      • Passengers with a medical condition that prevents them from being vaccinated, provided holding a letter from a recognised medical practitioner detailing the medical reason preventing vaccination.
      • Passengers who have recovered from Covid-19 or received convalescent plasma in the past 90 days,
      • provided holding a letter from a recognised medical practitioner showing that they may have recovered from an active infection in the past 90 days;
      • Returning unvaccinated Kenyan nationals who have difficulty accessing vaccines in their current country of residence. These passengers must be prepared to be vaccinated immediately on arrival and must register for vaccination on Chanjo-Ke platform before departure. Proof of registration is required prior to arrival

      Form requirements

    • Passengers are required to fill in a Passenger Locator Form during their flights to Kenya.
    • Passengers must hold a QR code in digital or paper format showing they have completed a Travelers Health Surveillance Form online prior to departure. This is completed by downloading the 'Jitenge MoH Kenya' app on iOS or Android.
      • This does not apply to passengers in transit.

      Test requirements

    • Unvaccinated passengers: Passengers aged 5 years and older, including transit passengers, must hold digital proof of a Covid-19 certificate showing a negative PCR test result obtained within 72 hours prior to departure obtained from. The medical certificate must be in English.
    • Vaccinated passengers: Test is not required for passengers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
      • The requirement to hold a negative PCR test result does not apply to passengers aged 4 years and younger.
    • Passengers whose medical certificates have expired due to the transit time will be subject to a test for Covid-19 at their own cost on arrival at a recognised facility. Please note that the antigen test facility is available at the Airport Trade Centre at Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO).
    • Unvaccinated passengers: Passengers aged 5 years and older will be subject to a rapid antigen test on arrival at their own expense (30 USD). Passengers who test positive will be subject to a second PCR test at their own expense (50 USD) and self-isolate for 5 days.
      • This does not apply to diplomats and government officials holding a negative PCR test result obtained within 72 hours prior to departure.
    • Vaccinated passengers: Test is not required on arrival for passengers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
    • Passengers travelling from countries other than Green Countries/Regions must quarantine for 14 days on arrival in Kenya and will be required to sign a 'Coronavirus Quarantine Declaration' confirming that they will adhere to the conditions of their quarantine.
      • This does not apply to diplomats and senior government officials, provided they hold a negative PCR test conducted within 72 hours prior to travel.
